Lamy Al-Star Black/Purple Fountain Pen

The Lamy Al-Star Aluminum Fountain Pens are a great edition to any fountain pen collection.  They are available in a variety of colors all with just the very slightest sheen and they come in a wide selection of nib sizes.  The Al-Star feels similar but just slightly heavier than the Safari; more well-balanced without the cap posted in my humble opinion.  I have small short hands and with the cap posted it makes this pen just a bit top-heavy and too long for me but without the cap posted it is perfect.  It also fills very easily with the add-on converter or simply by putting in a Lamy ink cartridge (available in seven ink colors).  All in all the Lamy Al-Star fountain is a terrific writing instrument.
